This week The Drowners has been added to the BFI National Archive and will be accessible through the mediatheques in London, Derby, Cambridge, Wrexham and Newcastle.
“Established in 1935, the BFI National Archive preserves one of the largest and most significant moving image collections in the world.
The collections are of national and international importance as a record of the history and culture of filmmaking and television production, and as a record of the contemporary life of the UK from the late 19th century to the present.
They are an unparalleled resource for researchers, students, filmmakers and television producers, historians and any interested member of the public.”
Alice in the Clouds, which was short listed for Film of the Month last year on Shooting People, has reached over 100 000 hits online:
Probably pick of this little coven is Catherine Taylor’s Temptation, a female-skewing, London-set story of a ladette (Caroline Haines) saved from a rapist minicab driver by a glam, moody vampire (Rachel Waters). It has more lipgloss lesbian fang-flashers, but offers a reasonable blend of chills and charm”. (Kim Newman, Empire Magazine, January 2011)
Alice in the Clouds will be playing at the Horse Hospital as part of the London Underground Film Festival on December 6th.
Temptation won “Best British Horror 2010″ at the Gorezone Film Awards last Saturday! We were presented with the award by Emily Booth, in a ceremony attended by many horror stars including Doug Bradley (Hellraiser).
Actress Rachel Waters (Aurelie) with the award.
And the winner is…
Rachel Waters gives the acceptance speech, while Reena Lalbihari (Alyssa) and I receive the award with her.
The three films made in collaboration with shoemaker Terry De Havilland and the chandelier maker Emerald Faerie will premiere at the Victoria and Albert Museum on the 24th of September 2010 as part of the London Design Festival’s Two’s A Pair event.
The films feature Esme Bianco, First Artiste at the Royal Ballet; Pietra Marie de Mello Pittman, Dam Van Huynh of Van Huynh Dance Company and Marilyn and Cecilia of Kink Ink.
Cinderella’s Revenge Ballet Film
Is currently in Post Production. The film features Pietra Marie de Mello-Pittman, first artiste with the Royal Ballet, and music by Mia Sonos. Costume by Olivia Mai. Make Up Sammm Agnew. Cinematography by Ajay Arora.
Watch sample take:
“Designer behind the Emerald Faerie bespoke lighting collections, Gall was inspired by the haute couture shoes creations by Terry De Havilland. Gall’s latest work of sculptural lighting and fiber optic illumination is an interpretation of De Havilland’s oeuvre, echoing the glamour of his materials, the shape of the 7-inch heels and the tools used in the process.”
Over the last few months I have been in production on three short films inspired by Cinderella’s Revenge.
